The LuxConnect administrative building stands in close proximity to the data center, at the heart of the Bettembourg economic activity zone. Spread over five above-ground floors and a garden level housing technical rooms and changing facilities, it combines functionality and sustainability.
Designed with a responsible approach, it features a concrete core combined with a timber load-bearing structure. Its timber-clad façade, composed of prefabricated non-load-bearing elements attached to the structure, allows for easy replacement without affecting the building as a whole. This modularity supports future spatial reconfigurations if needed. A structural grid of 135 cm and generous ceiling heights further enhance flexibility of use.
Inside, timber dominates the atmosphere, creating a warm ambiance complemented by natural materials such as terracotta and clay, which contribute to humidity regulation. The use of raw materials and minimal finishing reflects a modest and ecological approach. Technical installations are optimized, notably through reduced ventilation duct lengths, in line with an energy performance strategy aimed at achieving a “Carbon Footprint” certification.
The building benefits from thermal energy supplied by the neighboring data center and features an extensive green roof equipped with photovoltaic panels.
The parking area, covered by the building raised on stilts, remains outdoors to minimize the construction’s impact on the site.
Spatial organization favors simplicity and efficiency. The main entrance, marked by a vestibule and a reception desk, leads directly to the central staircase, encouraging its use over the elevator. The canteen, located on the ground floor, connects to a large meeting room via a sliding partition, ensuring modularity for events.
The upper floors follow a consistent layout: combined offices that can be privatized, communal areas with kitchenettes and coffee corners, and access to a terrace on each level. The central core houses stairs, restrooms, IT and printing rooms. The overall setup offers an optimized working environment, combining comfort and adaptability.
